Multimedia Files

To facilitate the creation of effects that complement sounds, has the ability to play audio files. These audio files can be played in and used in Timeline effects. Effects can be iteratively modified and played along with audio files to test how well the effects fit the sounds.

Media Files

supports various media file formats (see below). While IVS files do not embed the media data, the paths to these files are stored in the IVS file. This is used by to open and play media files.

Multimedia objects can be used to create Multimedia Launch Events in a Timeline effect. While a media file can be played within , data exported from contains no information about media files. Media playback is strictly for effect design. The end user application is responsible for playing media when desired.

 

Multimedia A Multimedia object contains the path information for a media file. supports the following media files:
  • AAC (ADTS) Files (*.aac)
  • K3G Files (*.k3g)
  • MPEG-4 Audio Files (*.m4a)
  • MIDI Files (*.mid)
  • MP3 Files (*.mp3)
  • MPEG-4 Files (*.mp4)
  • SKM Files (*.skm)
  • Wave Files (*.wav)

Drag and Drop Multimedia Files into from Windows Explorer

It is possible to drag a Multimedia file from Windows Explorer and open it directly in . To do this, Open Windows Explorer and drag the desired file icon from Windows Explorer into . A media object representing this file is then created and appears in the List View of .

Wave (WAV) files can be used to create Multimedia objects or Waveform effects. When dragging and dropping WAV files, asks whether you want to create a Multimedia object or a Waveform effect:
