File Convert From

can convert media files into Timeline effects. The data from the file is analyzed and used to create new IVS objects (Effects or Mulimedia links) in the active document. Several files can be converted in one IVS document, so that data from different files can be combined into one IVS file. The main purpose for converting files is to quickly create effects from non-vibratory files. The resulting effects can be further refined by effect designers.

To convert a file, select File from the main menu and then select Convert From. The Convert From submenu provides a choice between the following file formats.

MIDI (.mid)

The MIDI converter provides a convenient way of creating effects to match the notes contained in a MIDI file. Although the resulting effects may need refinement, the MIDI converter provides a good starting point for melding haptics with sound.
