For your information, you can read previous instructions for manual installation below: How to manually install iFeel Mouse Driver on Windows Vista/Seven Source URL: http://www.ifeelpixel.com/download/mice.htm The download page for the iFeel mouse claims that you need the original install disk with MouseWare 9.41.1F, TouchWare Desktop 2.5, and TouchWare Business 1.0 to use the iFeel or iFeel MouseMan with force-feedback. This isn't true, as the later versions of MouseWare also support these mouses and you can download the other software from Immersion (the manufacturers of TouchWare) and iFeelPixel (the developers of TactileWare). Warning: The iFeel mouse drivers are not compatible with Vista/Seven 64 bits. Please support Our Petition for Logitech iFeel Mouse driver 64 bits http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/iFeelMouseDriver/ Here's how to get your Logitech iFeel mouse (or iFeel mouseman) working in windows Vista/Seven 32 bits: (Please do not plug your iFeel Mouse/Mouseman before running the installer, unplug TouchSense devices) http://www.ifeelpixel.com/support/nosensations.htm#unplugdevice Note: before you start to install the Immersion TouchWare and iFeel Mouse drivers, it is recommended to disable UAC (User Account Control) with TweakNoUAC Software. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/ http://www.winability.com/tweak-uac/ 1. Download the newest TouchWare software from Immersion. Currently this is TouchWare Desktop 2.9 and TouchWare Business 1.0. Note that you need to right-click the links and download them. Just clicking the download links opened them in your browser, which doesn't work. 2. Download MouseWare 9.80 or MouseWare 9.79.1 from Logitech for Windows XP (alternatively, you can download mw980*.exe or mw9791*.exe from ftp.logitech.com, find and replace * by your native language). MouseWare 9.80 is the last made by Logitech as they now use SetPoint instead. 9.80 has a few improved features over 9.79, but they didn't want to test it on the older models, so that's why it claims to only be for the MX510 (the last mouse model to use MouseWare). http://support.logitech.com/en_za/product/ifeel-mouseman http://support.logitech.com/product/mx510-performance-optical-mouse--blue ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse 3. If you already have SetPoint installed (for other Logitech devices), first remove the entry from the Windows Registry that tells MouseWare that a newer version is already installed (SetPoint claims to be MouseWare 12 in the registry) and you can have MouseWare and SetPoint co-exist nicely. The entry to remove or rename is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\Setup\ProductID. Use regedit to remove or rename that entry, or run mouseware_clear_version.reg. http://ifeelpixel.com/support/logitech/mouseware_clear_version.reg Warning: there are known compatibility issues using SetPoint and screensaver on windows vista (The screensaver may not turn off correctly the screen after SetPoint is installed...to solve this problem, uninstall or update SetPoint drivers). 4. Before Installing MouseWare 9.80 or MouseWare 9.79.1, you need to use the Windows Vista/Seven Compatibility Mode: . Locate the setup package in windows explorer. . Right click the executable and left-click the "Properties" option. . Select the Compatibility tab. . Select the "Run This Program in Compatibility Mode for" option. . From the drop-down list, choose "Windows XP" as operating system. . If necessary, select the option to "Run this program as an administrator" under privilege level. . Click "Apply" then "OK". 5. Install MouseWare 9.80 or MouseWare 9.79.1 6. Install Immersion TouchWare Desktop 2.9. It is not fully compatible with windows vista, but it is required to activate the force feedback. Do not install "Microsoft Active Accessibility", click the "cancel" button. We recommend you to disable the automatic startup with windows in the Immersion TouchWare Desktop Control Panel or remove the Immersion Desktop entries "Load on startup" or "Start with windows" from your registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\ , or run DisableTouchWareDesktopStartup.reg http://ifeelpixel.com/support/logitech/DisableTouchWareDesktopStartup.reg 7. Install Immersion TouchWare Business 1.0 (optional, you can skip this step) 8. Re-install MouseWare 9.80 or MouseWare 9.79.1 (Step required). If the selected driver still does not work on your machine, try the other version (9.80 or 9.79.1) 9. Reboot 10. Download and Install iFeelPixel TactileWare. You should now feel the tactile feedback from your iFeel Mouse (or iFeel MouseMan). http://www.ifeelpixel.com/download/ Note: MouseWare may still not show the thumb button, but it will still send the normal mouse4 event. You still won't be able to assign a shortcut to the thumb button on the iFeel MouseMan model, but it will work in Games as button 4 (As long as you install the Logitech's GameFix) and in Windows XP/Vista as internet-back-command button. The web wheel function does work, you can assign it to mouse button 3. This tutorial was inspired by Richard, author of the uberOptions mod for SetPoint.
